How Can I Stop Getting Blisters On My Toes When Playing Sports?
December 25, 2009 | In: Sports
Many years ago I got an infection on one of my feet, and now I get blisters on my big toe when I play sports (particularly basketball). I’ve bought new shoes and new socks, but it’s the same story.
I hardly ever get blisters on my other foot. (Why can’t the left one be more like the right?!)
Any suggestions?

I referee soccer and on the weekends that I have tournaments (meaning I’ll referee 9-11 games), many times I also get blisters. They come from many different things. I’d suggest that you:
1) foot powder in your socks
2) change socks (suggestion from my military days) frequently.
3) when you are not playing sports (in between games), take your shoes off to let your feet breathe. Then change socks (half way through the day) if you are playing sports all day long

blisters are awful!!
what i do is cover the area where you normally get the blisters (your big toe) with strapping tape, and then cover the tape with vaseline. Be genorous with the vaseline! It is a bit gross and your socks aren’t too nice afterwards but it prevents the blisters.
i hope it works!

It sounds like your shoes are the wrong size! Go to a shoe store like Fleet Feet (http://www.fleetfeetsports.com/) and have a salesperson measure your feet.
